The Stated Meeting of May, was held via Zoom with a few fully vaccinated Brothers attending at the Lodge, on Saturday the 8th at 10:00AM. With all Brethren in attendance confirmed to be Masons, and Covid-19 free, the Lodge was opened at 10:05AM. The Master lead the brethren in the pledge of allegiance to the flag, of our great nation.
Previous Meeting Minutes:
The minutes of the virtual stated meeting of April, were approved as read.
Bills and Communications:
No bills were presented. A request for reimbursement was submitted by the Secretary for 6 Covid-19 Tests for the total of $78.63. A motion to pay our bills and reimbursement requests was made by Brother Heimsoth, and seconded by the Treasurer, Brother Jess Rodriguez.
Reception of Applications:
No applications were received, but Brother Nicholas LeBouef, the 2019 and 20′ Marshal of South Valley no. 187, has expressed interest in Affiliation with our lodge.
Hall Association Business:
Update on Water Usage: Brother Densem offered the Lodge an update that the latest H20 bill was for 700 Gallons. The Hall Association returned $2K to the Lodge in “excess funds” as per the annual protocol. Brother Densem also confirmed that the Lodge’s Taxes were completed and submitted by the Grand Lodge on our behalf.
Record Scanning: The Worshipful Master did some additional research on the project to Document and Scan our lodge record books into the digital form. After contact with the Grand Lodge, he has learned that they no longer offer such a service. Worshipful Brother Robert Robins came forth to mention that he had previously purchased such a photographic scanner for old books as a gift for a friend, and that he might be able to borrow it for our purposes. We await additional information.
Deck Project Proposal: The Secretary offered an update on the estimated cost, to build a wood deck. Given that current Lumber prices are feeling the forces of inflation, the estimated cost for a lumber deck has more than doubled vs. the previous estimate. This being from about $4K, to $8K. The Worshipful Master Strouse, offered and update on the concept of a “Masonry” based approach. Pouring a simple concrete pad, of 16’x20′ would cost approximately $686 + the cost of forming materials and metal reinforcing mesh. A more affordable approach, which might total $1,000.00 all said and done. The Master also reaffirmed that the County does not require a permit for such a concrete pad approach.
Has any Brother, anything for the benefit of Masonry?
